Andrew Ackers – Automotive Business Coach

With over 10 years of experience in the automotive industry and 6 years as the  owner and operator of a successful automotive service business, I bring a blend of  hands-on expertise, strategic growth insight, and coaching excellence. My  background is rooted in customer service excellence, electric vehicle (EV) training  and repair, and a deep understanding of automotive shop systems.

Expertise and Experience

I have grown my business from a $600,000 startup to a stable $2.2 million  operation, built on the foundation of efficient processes, team development, and  exceptional client service. My shop is EV-certified and a NexDrive facility,  highlighting our forward-thinking approach to industry advancements. I also serve  as a regular instructor for NAPA’s High Voltage Program, where I train service  advisors and parts specialists in EV service readiness.

Before owning my shop, I worked for an automotive startup, directly stepping into  the operator role to help convert the business’s software over to a new platform.  My responsibilities included implementing digital inspections and redesigning  processes to support this transition. This experience enhanced my ability to  identify gaps, optimize workflows, and implement scalable solutions—skills that I  continue to leverage today.

Through years of working with Protractor and mastering its integrations, I’ve  developed a strong understanding of front-end systems and how they can  streamline daily operations. I specialize in digital inspection implementation and  enhancement, helping shops elevate their inspection processes and drive  customer engagement.

Coaching Focus

As a Co-Active certified coach, which is part of a grander International Coaching  Federation (ICF) accreditation program, I provide customized coaching services,  including:

1-on-1 Coaching: Personalized guidance tailored to individual growth and development.

On-Site Support: Hands-on coaching within shops to address challenges and opportunities directly.

System Implementation: Efficient setup and optimization of shop management systems and processes.

EV Training: Equipping shops to handle the evolving needs of electric vehicles.

Process Improvement: Streamlining workflows to boost productivity and profitability.

Digital Inspection Development: Implementing and enhancing digital inspections for better client communication and increased sales.

Coaching Philosophy

I believe in keeping systems simple and straightforward, reducing friction and  making it easier for businesses to adopt new ideas. My coaching approach  empowers teams and individuals by fostering collaboration and shared ownership  of outcomes. By working closely with business owners, I ensure that we tackle  challenges together, as a team, unlocking the potential already present within their  operations.

Personal Connection to the Industry

My passion for the automotive world started at a young age, thanks to my  grandfather, who inspired my brother and me to explore cars. This early exposure  developed into a lifelong commitment to the industry. Building my own business  has been one of the most rewarding journeys, and I feel fortunate to now help  others achieve their goals by drawing out their strengths as operators.

Life Outside of Work

When I’m not coaching or running the shop, I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking  and creating memories with my family. My wife has been my partner in business  from the very beginning, and together we built our shop from the ground up—both  of us working the front counter to get it off the ground. Our 2-year-old son,  Mason, brings joy and perspective to everything I do.

I am excited to bring my knowledge and passion to help other automotive  businesses grow and thrive.
